Journey to man hood

Journey to man hood is something I don't think I have fully gone thru yet, not had very much guidance in this area and have suffered in certain areas of my life because of this. At this point in my life i am praying for God to father me into this journey and I am feeling God move so strongly in my life Im praying for a yielded heart so as to be guided by the spirit of God, praying for that awesome journey, the kind that only God can take you down. Something that has help me tremendously is a book by John Eldredge called Fathered by God

  1. Manhood is taking responsibilities and learning to prioritize selflessly. Once God is given the oppertunity to change us and begin shaping us into his image, the journey really begins. As we learn to yield to the spirit of God we begin to lose our natural way of thinking and doing. This journey takes each individual down different paths, but ultimately to the same destination...holiness. Just as we were all young children and had to learn from our parents, caretakers, elders, etc... the basic fundamentals of life such as walking, eating, conversing, as well as many other things which helped develop what are considered natural essentials for independant living, we know find ourselves once again looking for similar guidance and direction. This time as adults in search of the Lords will for our lives. We all want approval but more or less to find the peace that surpasses all understanding. This peace is attainable through total surrender and self sacrifice. The most important spiritual advice I was ever given was in order for me to be filled of the Lord i have to be emptied of myself. Now, several years later I finally have a better understanding of the scriptures in which deal with being living sacrifices. Just as Christ was crucified and his flesh beaten and battered, so shall our own lives reflect that same obedience in order to live as his righteosness. Dying to our own flesh and sinfulness nature that we may live free and in accordance with the Father's will. No longer will it be us which lives rather Christ who lives through us,amen! To live is Christ to die is gain. This world may live to die, but I choose to die to live....God Bless
